Welcome to Laugarás Lagoon! To ensure the safety and well-being of all our guests, we ask you to respect the following rules:
Safety Rules & Rules of conduct
Staff members: For the safety and enjoyment of all visitors, guests are required to
always follow the instructions of our staff members. Staff members are responsible for
ensuring a safe environment in and around the lagoon. Disregarding or refusing to
comply with their directions may lead to expulsion or removal from the facility without
refund.
Child supervision:
- Children under the age of 8 are not permitted in the lagoon.
- Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult (18 years or older).
Laugarás Lagoon staff may request a valid ID card or passport to verify a child’s date of
birth and reserve the right to deny access if a valid document cannot be provided.
Parents and guardians are responsible for their children throughout the whole facility
and lagoon area at all times.
Swimwear: swimwear is required at all times while using the lagoon and spa area.
Swimwear must be made from materials specifically designed for swimming and water
use.
Diving and jumping: Diving and jumping into the lagoon are strictly prohibited –
violations may result in expulsion or removal.
Intoxicants: Smoking, the use of tobacco, vaping, nicotine pouches or any other use of intoxicants are strictly prohibited within the whole facility.
Food and drinks: Outside food or beverages may not be brought into or consumed at
Laugarás Lagoon. All beverages purchased in the lagoon are served in plastic glasses.
Guests may consume a maximum of three alcoholic drinks.
Toys: No pool toys are allowed. Inflatable toys, balls, or diving equipment are not
permitted.
Wash without swimwear: All guests must wash thoroughly with soap, without a
swimsuit, before entering the pool area. Hair must be showered or washed.
Water quality: The hot water in the lagoon comes from the geothermal area in Laugarás
through Bláskógabyggð. It is cooled with glacial water from the river Hvítá, which is
filtered and purified before flowing into the lagoon. In addition, the lagoon is regularly
emptied, thoroughly cleaned before being refilled, and daily water sampling is carried
out. The lagoon is natural and chlorine-free. Together we keep the water pure. Showering
before entering the lagoon is mandatory.
Slippery: Please be aware that floors and walkways may be slippery when wet. Use
caution in wet areas and on stairs. Guests enter the facilities at their own risk.
Be considerate: Laugarás Lagoon reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse
entry to, or remove from the lagoon, any person who:
− Behaves in a manner that, in the opinion of Laugarás Lagoon staff, compromises
the safety or enjoyment of other guests.
− Uses threatening, abusive, or insulting language, or acts in a way that may cause
a disturbance.
− Is, or appears to be, under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Laugarás Lagoon staff may request guests to undergo a breathalyzer test if there is any
indication of alcohol influence. Guests will not be permitted to enter the lagoon if their
blood alcohol level exceeds 0.08%. Refusal to take a breathalyzer test will result in
denial of entry or removal from the premises if entry has already been granted.
In the above cases, no issues will be refunded.
Photography: The use of cameras or phone cameras is strictly prohibited in the
changing rooms and showers. Please show consideration and respect for other guests.
Guests must refrain from photographing or recording others without their explicit
consent. Photos or other recordings are for private use only and may not be used for
commercial purposes.
Valuables: Guests are urged to use the lockers provided for their belongings.
Guests should avoid bringing valuables or delicate items into the lagoon and spa area,
as exposure to water, moisture, and heat may cause damage. Laugarás Lagoon assumes
no liability for lost, stolen, damaged or misplaced personal items.
Tidiness: Please help keep the area tidy and leave the changing rooms and lockers
clean.
